JOB DESCRIPTION

With 15 years of experience in the meat industry, Amin's Butcher and Grill is renowned for providing top-quality halal, gourmet meat, and deli products. Our restaurants offer a personalized dining experience where you can choose your own meat from our butcher selection and have it crafted into a delicious meal.

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Chef with passion for cooking and exceptional customer service skills to join our vibrant and energetic team. The successful candidate will be assigned to our Arndale shop, Springwood, QLD. The ordinary hours of work will be 38 Hours per week. Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

 

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Craft high-quality grilled steaks and Middle Eastern cuisines with precision, adhering to halal food handling and cooking techniques.
  • Plan menus to develop innovative recipes, estimate food and labor costs, and ensure compliance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and personalized product recommendations.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including HACCP principles.
  • Monitor dish quality throughout preparation and presentation, addressing any issues with relevant team members.
  • Manage inventory, food storage, rotation, and labeling to maintain freshness and quality.
  • Ensure prep stations are adequately stocked.
  • Demonstrate an exceptional ability to run the pass smoothly and efficiently during service.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment.
  • Assist in the selection, training, and supervision of kitchen staff, providing guidance on techniques and cost-effective management of resources.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience as a Chef in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant or similar dining environment (Grill House)
  • Experience of cooking high-quality steaks is required, and knowledge of Middle-Eastern cuisine is preferred.
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is required.
  • Excellent understanding of HACCP principles/food safety
  • Previous experience in a value-added shop is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Professional grooming standards and uniform compliance required.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently within a small team.
  • Strong work ethic with a cooperative and pleasant nature, reliable, and punctual
  • Carry out duties as directed by the Manager/Owner.

 

Salary: $73,150 - $75,000 per annum
